The NSBKA have regular demonstrations with bees during the active season, and we follow this up with lectures during the inactive season. You should take every opportunity you can to watch others handle bees and handle them yourself in turn. This is how you get a good grounding in the basics and your own handling and colony management techniques will be developed.
