The Association runs a 'Taster in Beekeeping' course each year for people interested in taking their first steps with keeping bees. For those members who are keen to learn more we have informal tutor groups and encourage correspondence courses for the BBKA modular exams.
The Association maintains an apiary at an organic farm in North Shropshire. We hold regular meetings at the apiary during the summer, where members old and new can gain experience in handling bees.
