Register your Interest in siting a hive or hives in an out apiary

Looking for somewhere to site your hives? Then register your interest on the form below.

We are setting up a pilot scheme 'Room for a hive?' which enables landowners, farmers and others to register their willingness to allow a hive or hives to be sited on their land. These will be people who have registered their interest in wanting to help the honey bee in this way via a form on this website (You can see the public 'Room for a hive? registration page here)

The sites offered by people may or may not be suitable of course, they are probably non-beekeepers. The association is not currently intending to 'survey' the sites being offered for suitability, and the investigation and decision on suitability will be up to you.

The pilot scheme will initially match on a first come first served basis taking into account the areas that you have specified on the form below and the location of the land/site being offered. (This method of 'allotment' may change as the pilot scheme progresses).

We will also, if possible, attempt to match the number of interested parties to the number of beekeepers wanting such an out apiary opportunity, possibly by use of posters and flyers or advertising the scheme in the local press, but this will depend on the demand from members.

Please note that throughout this pilot scheme, the association is only acting as a facilitator, providing just a 'notice board' to help bring parties together. All arrangements and dealings will and must remain solely a matter between the individual member or members concerned and the owner of the land. However you will be seen to be representing the association even though you are not and care must be taken not to abuse the trust and generosity of those offering their sites.
