April in the Apiary
- Check stores. With spring build-up a colony can quickly deplete its stores.
- Carry out first inspection when weather allows
- Find, mark and clip queens, while colonies are relatively small
- Shook swarm or Bailey frame change any colonies needing complete comb replacement.
- Change floors and Brood boxes (if you have spares available) for clean ones
- Be on the lookout for signs of swarm preparation.
- Keep records on each visit.

- Compile an equipment shopping list for the Spring Convention!
