LASI Research on the Attractiveness of Ornamental Garden Flowers to Bees & Other Insects

LASI, the Laboratory of Apiculture & Social Insects at the University of Sussex, is carrying out basic and applied research on honey bees and other social insects. LASI's applied research is called the "Sussex Plan for Honey Bee Health & Well Being" and includes projects on controlling honey bee diseases and projects aimed at better understanding bee foraging.

The Association's apiary in North Shropshire

The Association maintains an apiary at an organic farm in North Shropshire. We hold regular meetings at the apiary during the summer, where members old and new can gain experience in handling bees.
